The tundra, soaring peaks, waterfalls and stunning alpine lakes make a dramatic backdrop for this hiking trip in Rocky Mountain National Park. Snow covered mountains that tower over 13,000’ will surround you as you hike to trails to discover some of the hidden jewels in the park. In June, expect to see masses of tiny alpine blooms that sparkle underfoot alongside the trails. The itinerary includes some of the best hikes in the park with flexibility built in to accommodate the abilities of the group. We stay at a classic hotel in the mountains with lovely views from the porch. Every day a new adventure in the midst of magnificent snow covered mountain peaks.


June 12 - Meet in the Denver airport at 2:00 p.m. and drive to our hotel

June 13 - A day to acclimatize. We’ll saunter around Lily Lake by the hotel before our visit to the Visitors Center. Then short hikes to Upper Beaver Meadow, Fall Creek, Endo Valley and the Alluvial Fan.

June 14 - Today we hike in the Bear Lake Area to Nymph, Dream and Emerald Lakes, three gems surrounded by craggy peaks.

June 15 - Today a spectacular walk along a creek to Ouzel Falls and Calypso Cascades in the Wild Basin Area. We’ll watch for the secretive ouzel as we hike.

June 16 - We’ll drive to the Alpine Visitor’s Center at 11,800'. Along the way we stop for short hikes then, on the way down we’ll hike above timberline on the Ute Trail.

June 17 - We’ll hike to Cub Lake before we head back to Denver and a motel close to the airport.

June 18 - Depart anytime from Denver.
