The Magnificent Swiss Alps

September 4th - 12th, 2010
$2495.00

Annivers valley, south of the Rhone River Valley is a magical place, a 21st century Brigadoon, yet undiscovered by the tourism industry. You’ll stay at a small family run hotel with a view of the backside of the Matterhorn from your balcony. St Luc is one of several small villages you’ll visit and yes, there will be time to linger and to sip a café au lait.

We ride trams to high valleys, walk through dense conifer forests, follow footpaths up and down river gorges and picnic alongside alpine streams.

At the end of the day a gourmet French dinner and your down comforter await.

September 4 - Meet at the airport in Geneva, ride the train to Sierre then, the Swiss Postal bus to St Luc.

September 5 - You’ll ride the funicular up the mountain behind St Luc.

September 6 - We’ll ride the funicular again and this time hike up higher to Lac Noir.

September 7 - We’ll ride the bus to Grimmitz then, take a tram to mountains behind Grimmitz.

September 8 - Toady we’ll take the bus to Zinal and hike in the area-again a tram ride up to a higher elevation.

September 9 - We’ll take the bus to Lac du Moiry and hike around this alpine lake.

September 10 - We’ll take the bus to Zinal again and walk through a lovely forest back to Grimmitz.

September 11 - Return to Geneva after a farewell breakfast and sad goodbyes at the hotel.

September 12 - Depart Geneva anytime.
